Trophy Information

To be eligible for these trophies you must be a financial member of Athletics Masterton. Club trophies are awarded in grades of male and female in the age grades listed.

Talbot Memorial. 

Awarded to men and women (fastest time and handicap) in Race 8 of the XC series in the highest grade in which members compete.  For men this will be awarded to A Grade runners.

Novice Trophies. 
These are awarded to the first placed novice in each grade in the designated novice event. A novice runner is a runner who competes for their first season in that grade.

Randolph Rose 5 mile. 
Awarded to the 1st senior or veteran man across the line

Kitchener Street races. 
First across the line in each grade will win these trophies. A junior grade exists for runners aged 15 to 19.

Cameron Cup. 
First across the line in each grade will win these trophies. A junior grade exists for runners aged 15 to 19.

Askew Trophies. 
Are awarded to the senior and veteran runners who gain the most points in all interclub events. The first runner gets 10 points, the second runner 9 points and so on down.

Lisa and Anna Wyeth Cup. 
For outstanding efforts by a junior or midget girl.

Club Championship, Road and Cross-country. 
Grade champions are the first person across the line in their particular grade. Club champions (honours board) are the first male and female home from any grade who has run the maximum distance of the championship event.

Aggregate H/C Points Trophies. 
All points awarded during the Trophy Series (4 races) which include the following events: Novice, Randolph Rose races, Kitchener Street and Cameron Cup races are combined.
The highest points total from all events will win the trophy for their grade. A junior grade exists for runners aged 15 to 19

Randolph Rose Sports Person of the Year. 
Awarded by the Harrier Chairperson to a member for outstanding service to the Section during that year

Veteran Championship grades.
 
During the cross country and road championship events the following Veteran grades are recognised :

Men 40 - 49, 50 – 59, 60 plus
Women 35 – 49, 50 – 59, 60 plus

Wairarapa Country Half Marathon
First Wairarapa female and male finishers

Rangitumau 
King of the mountain
Queen of the mountain
Veteran men – fastest time.
C grade – fastest time.

Interclub events with :
Bush Harriers (Bradbury Cup)
Hutt Valley & Wairarapa clubs (Saunders and Gough)
Olympic and Wanganui clubs (at Dorne Cup)

Other Information

Course markers. 
During races you must run within 5 metres of a single marker or between the markers if there are 2 markers present.

Entry Fees. 
The section will subsidise some race fees for centre and national events.

Trust House cross-country or road series events will cost $1.00 per event for members of Athletics Masterton or $4.00 for non-members. 
The exception will be for midget and junior grades, where the entry fee will be $1.00.

There is no entry fee for the Trophy Series events.

Start Times. 
Generally, races start approximately 9:00 am in the summer and 10:00 am during the winter.
Staggered starts occur in most events so please check prior to race day

Trust House handicapping
The Trust House series sorts runners into like grades of ability, e.g. A, B, C etc regardless of age or gender.

Open Handicap events.
The slower competitors start first, the object being that all runners finish at the same time.
The winner of these events is the first competitor across the line.
