Distances

These are nominal distances.  Handicaps are based on the measured distances of the courses.    Go to the Trust House Series pages to see the directions to the locations and the course maps

Race 1 has 2 options.  Potential E Grader's will only do a 4.5km loop. (They are usually recreational walkers and particularly slow joggers.)

All others will do the 7km loop and slower runners may be placed in the E Grade

J Grade is for Junior Runners who wish to compete over 4km at each race venue.  This will be an out & back course.

M Grade is for Midget Runners who wish to compete over 2km at each race venue.  This will be an out & back course.

(There are no age restrictions.  Children or their parents should choose the most suitable grade.  This grade MUST be used for the whole series)

Start Times

Generally the main start time is 9:00 am.  The first race is a massed start.

There are 5 adult grades

E Grade - who are walkers and joggers start at 9:00 am so they are back at the same time as the running grades.  They start at 8:00 am at Rangitumau

D Grade - start at 9:05 am except Rangitumau which is 8:45 am

C Grade - start at 9:10 am

B, M, J & Grade - start at 9:15 am

A Grade - start at 9:20 am

Race Conditions

Race 1 (28/10/07) will be a handicap race starting at 9:00am. This is a grading race and the handicap will be based on previous times. Walkers and slow joggers  will do 4.5kms.

You will be placed in a grade depending on your ability and if  you have been placed in the wrong grade, you will be re-graded that day. There will be five grades and we will attempt to provide even numbers in each grade and keep people in the same grade throughout the series.

Please advise the organisers at your 1st run and before the results are finalised if you wish to continue the series in another grade.

Points will be awarded on a scale of 20 for the winner, 19 for second, 18 for third, etc. In addition, two points will be awarded for each person entering and completing each race.
You will not be re-graded once you have competed in a grade.  We hope the handicappers will take your ability into account.

All competitors must begin each race in their own grade and at the correct time.  If  you are late please start immediately as your time is based on the start time for your grade.

There will be a $4:00 entry fee per race for adults (which will be reduced to $1.00 for any member of Athletics Masterton) and $1.00 for competitors in the children's grades.

On race day, spot prizes will be drawn at random from all finishers. . Winners must be present otherwise the prizes will be redrawn.

At the end of the series, prizes and certificates will be awarded to the first four places in each grade. In the event of a draw in any grade, the winner between the two at the last race both completed in will be awarded the higher placing. Six of the nine races ONLY will count towards final handicap points. Each competitors lowest points score during the series will be dropped.

Competitors who complete all nine races of the series will receive a bonus prize.

The Series Prize Giving will be held in conjunction with the Club Road Championships on 9th March 2008.

All persons compete at their own risk.

Children

We have split the children’s section again this year to cater for those who want to run a little further. In the Midget grade (the M grade) each race will be 2kms. In the Junior grade (the J grade) each race will be 4kms. There will be $1.00 entry fee and competitors will be eligible for spot prizes.

Walkers

Walkers are very welcome to take part in the series and will be included in the appropriate grade according to their ability.

Results

Results will be available on the Internet later on race day at :
http://www.trusthouse.co.nz/sport/athletics/summer_series_results.htm   and if possible advertised in the Wairarapa Times-Age.

It is the responsibility of each competitor to advise a member of the Committee of any errors, prior to the next race (PLEASE not after 8:00pm at night).

Series Prize Giving will be held in conjunction with the Club Road Championships
