Trophies

 Novice Trophies.        A novice runner is a runner who competes for their first season in a particular grade. Novice trophies are available in all grades except U11 where certificates will be awarded.

 Randolph Rose 5 mile.           Awarded to the first senior or veteran man across the line in this event.

 Kitchener Street races.     First across the line in each grade will win these trophies. Open Handicap event.

 Cameron Cup.                        First across the line in each grade will win these trophies. Open Handicap event.

 Aggregate H/C Points Trophies.       The person with the most points (see points below) awarded during the 4 race series, will win the trophy for their grade.                     

 Askew Trophies.        Are awarded to the senior and veteran men runners who gain the most points in all interclub events (see club program). The first runner gets 10points, the second runner 9 points and so on down.

 Lisa and Anna Wyeth Cup.       For outstanding efforts by a junior or midget girl.

 Randolph Rose Sports Person of the Year.   Awarded by the Harrier Chairperson to a member for outstanding service to the Section during that year.

 Club Championships,  Cross-Country and Road.      Grade champions are the first person across the line in their particular grade. Club champions (honours board) are the first male and female home from any grade who has run the maximum distance of the championship event. These trophies are not part of the trophy series.

 Talbot Memorial.        Awarded to men and women (fastest time and handicap) in either race 7 or 8 of the XC series, in the highest grade in which members compete. For men this will be awarded to A grade runners. These trophies are not part of the trophy series.

 Other Information

Points.                         All runners will gain 5 participation points from each event. Place points will be awarded to your finishing position in each event. Place points will be allocated to equal the number participants per grade, with the winner getting maximum points and so on down, (i.e. 7 runners per grade, first home gets 7 points, 2^nd gets 6 points, 3^rd gets 5 points, etc, etc).

 Walking Grade. A combined men’s and women’s walking grade will be available, please notify registration if you intend to walk. Certificates will be awarded to walkers as trophies are not available.

 Start Times.     Races start at 10.00am. Staggered starts will occur in open handicap events.

 Scratch Races.            All runners start together (race 1 only), the winner is the first competitor over the finish line.         

Open Handicap events.  The slower competitors start first with handicap times, the object being that all runners have an equal chance of winning. The winner of these events is the first competitor across the line.

 Handicap Times. Handicap times for races 2, 3, and 4 will be determined from race 1 and the handicapper’s opinion.

 Prize Giving.   All trophies will be awarded in the clubrooms following race 4 (23 September).

 Certificates.    In some grades or events trophies have been lost or not returned, in these instances certificates will be awarded, if you think you have or know of others that may have a club trophy can you please return it or notify Graeme Butcher. A certificate will also be awarded to all trophy winners.

 Results.           Results will not be posted out but should be available on this web site.

 Post Race.       Morning tea and showers will be available after each event at the clubrooms.
